Casual dating is, I would say, 8090% about looks. As someone who went to a top school and has been in biglaw for four years, I can confirm all this as I underwent a physical transformation over the years and went from a nerd to a good-looking, athletic man.

- Mon Aug 02, 2021 4:20 am. Kids suck until they are 5 years old or so (and especially when they are less than 3). Big law is great for providing an automatic excuse for pushing the burden onto your partner, and then when they get older and bearable you can go get a gov’t / in-house job and spend time with them.
- Just by way of example, there was an old judge on the court in which I clerked who had the following preferences: 1. Hand-written thank-you note: good. No thank-you note: neutral. Thank-you email: bad. So, while this judge appreciated hand-written thank you notes, he found thank-you emails to be rude.

- Oct 10, 2013 If you can land a job paying $160k, you can land one making $100k and have a family. It just doesn't make sense to me, or at least, I guess the type of people who want biglaw are the type of people for whom success in career outweighs contentment of soul. They be handing out DEM $100k 9-5 SWEET GIGS.
